Back Hexacta deploys an intranet solution for Tenaris, the largest Argentinean corporation - 03/01/2004 - 03/2004

The new platform is the product of almost a year of collaboration between Hexacta, Tenaris and Tecsis (Tenaris IT arm). It will support Tenaris strategy of allowing for the business units throughout the world to hold their data locally, while the applications themselves run centrally under one integrated and homogeneous framework (which in turn has important benefits in terms of authentication and security). The new architecture is based on Microsoft's MSIB framework (Microsoft Solution for Internet Business). This framework groups the functionalities some of Microsoft's major products such as MS SharePoint Portal Server, MS Content Management Server and MS Commerce Server.

Tenaris is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of seamless steel pipe products and provider of pipe handling, stocking and distribution services to the oil and gas, energy and mechanical industries (13% of world's market share).
