Our CMM and CMMI® Evaluation Process
BackHexacta went through two CBA-IPI assessments (CMM® Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement). The first one took place in October 2003 and the second, in 2005. As a result of the first assessment, Hexacta achieved CMM® Level 3, while in the second one it reached CMM® Level 4.
On July and August, 2009 we went through a SCAMPI A (Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement), led by Juan José Cukier, an SEI authorized lead appraiser from Pragma Consultores. This time, Hexacta was assessed at CMMI Level 3.
In all our evaluations we invited experts from third companies, so we could receive more external inputs on our processes. During our first years working with CMM, we received valuable help from the Motorola software development center based in Córdoba.
In this last appraisal, we evaluated 4 projects, 17 process areas, 73 goals and 336 practices; we interviewed 32 employees, collected 858 oral evidences, performed 4779 document reviews and generated 126 findings. We are very proud of having been able to show that, with a flexible approach, agility and predictability can be combined.
