Argentine software developer Hexacta has invested US$500,000 to open an office in Reston, Virginia, the company said in a statement.

The new office will be headed by Hexacta founder and CEO Juan Navarro, who said that offshore and nearshore projects represent around 70% of total revenues, and of that percentage 60% comes from the US.

“Until now, we had a network of distributors [in the US] that helped to generate leads and close business,” Navarro said. “We believe that now’s the moment to take the leap and get installed in the US, given the increasing global trend to outsource to developing countries. The local industry is growing exponentially and we know that our talent is a differentiating factor abroad.”

Founded in 1999, Hexacta has development centers in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. The firm currently employs approximately 240 workers.
