Our offshore software company provides Open Spaces’ in our offices. Take a look at what happened during our first reunion of the year.
Last April 13th, Hexacta held the first Open Space of 2016 on Agile methodologies in our offices in Cañitas. Over 30 participants attended the meeting, organized by Pablo Pecora, Hexacta Manager and Scrum Coach.
Despite the rainy afternoon, the room kept filling up with participants. Each of them sat next to each other forming a big circle and when it’s completed, the Open Space started.
Pablo Pecora started a list and added each suggestion that the attendants made: Agile Fixed Price, Fixed Price and Scrum; Scrum -But, Scrum scaling, Metrics Management agile risks, and more…
At the end of the vote, the event started with the winning topic, and while people exchanged experiences, opinions, and contributions, new topics emerged on the scene: Scrum -But management and technical debt.
An Open Space offers a format of open talks. Its main advantage is the dynamic participation generated by its participants. “An Open Space is generally a long event, our meetings are like “little Open Spaces’” for their length, which are usually for two to three hours”, Pablo Pecora said, and added, “The advantage of this is that we can focus on a specific aspect of the subject, which gives us more depth through the development of an issue.”
Hexacta encourages these encounters and provides the place to make them possible. They are open and free for anyone interested.
There are still many issues left to talk about, and surely we will soon have news on the upcoming meeting. If you are interested in attending, stay in touch with the community through Community or MeetUp page: http://www.meetup.com/es-ES/agiles-bsas/events/

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Open Space is a format of talks and open participation, the main advantage of which is its dynamic and involved generation of the event’s agenda. While such meetings are long-lasting, Hexacta’s Open Space are designed to last no more than three hours, during which participants work from one to three topics of their interest.
The Open Space is designed as a space to share knowledge and experiences around the agile world, in which some of the issues primarily treated are agile methodologies in software development, project management, continuous improvement of production equipment, organizational change, leadership, and motivation.
